Join the Lunchbox Babies May Challenge!

Happy May, friends. First question, how is it already May 1st? I feel like I was making News Years Resolutions last week. This year is flying by. Slightly concerning, but my eyes are set on the summer, so I’m pressing on.

Second question, how annoying is it to post one of those Justin Timberlake “It’s going to the May” memes? Asking for a friend. Because I love them. They make me smile. But, I will refrain. Maybe. #nsyncforever

Today, on May 1st, I want to challenge you. All of us! I know that I can get so wrapped up in my life (the ups and downs), and can’t see the forest for the trees. Whether I have been knee deep in infertility, or even if I am busy with the daily grind of life. I can, unfortunately, get very distracted and not take the time to realize how much I have to be grateful for.

So, I have decided to challenge myself. And, y’all. Because challenges are always easier with friends!

Here is how it works:

Get yourself a notebook, piece of paper, or pull up the Notes app on your phone. Just get something that you can easily grab throughout the month! I felt inspired to do this last year, and bought a super cool journal at Target. Let it be known that the journal is still sitting on my desk, empty and unused. So, we are going to crack it open today!

Each day in May, write down THREE things that you are thankful for. It can be ANYTHING. Like, “I got to see Avengers: End Game, and it was just as amazing as Shawna said it was!” or “I didn’t want to yell at my boss today”, or “my heart doesn’t hurt as much today as it did yesterday”. You get the drift! Just write these things down! Every day!

At the end of the month, you will have 93 things that you are grateful for written down! It is my hope that when I am hanging out and lost deep in the forest and can’t see the beauty for all of the trees, that I will pull out this list and remind myself that I am a lucky girl.

I bet when you look back on this list, some will be goofy and some will be a snapshot of your heart.

So, who is with me????? I am challenging all of YOU, and I hope that you challenge your loved ones in the same way.

Okay . . . I will go first. Here are my three things I am grateful for today!

  1. I am thankful that I ran this morning, and my knee didn’t hurt!
  2. I am thankful that I have three, uninterrupted hours today to sit and work on an upcoming project. That never happens, and I am thankful for the time!
  3. I am thankful for coffee!
