Today is my Friday! WOOHOO!

Tomorrow morning, Reid & I are getting on a plane for an ADULT-ONLY weekend in Las Vegas! We are going with some of our favorite people, and I cannot wait! We will literally be there for 48 hours. So.Much.Fun.

So, today is an adjusted “Friday Favorites” post! Enjoy . . .

ONE

I can’t go on without mentioning the August Book Review!! If you didn’t read it, click here for all of the goodness! These monthly book review posts are such a favorite for me! As are all of your recommendations! I love them!

I have a book that I am bringing to Vegas with me, and I am SO excited. Going down the suspenseful path with this one. I figure I can’t have nightmares in Vegas, right?

I love Gwyneth Paltrow, but was always under the assumption that her GOOP line was ridiculously expensive.

I somehow managed to see an article about her skin care regimen, and how she swears by her Exfoliating Instant Facial. She made it sound dreamy, and after finding out that a small size of this was only $42, I pulled the trigger.

Y’all. This stuff is legit! My face feels like butter after I use it. The container says to use 2-3 times a week, but Gwyneth says she uses it nightly. Once I am not in the sun so much and the temps turn cooler, I am going to start using this nightly. I think that this may be a new staple for me!

Friends, let me let you in on a little MUST HAVE for me and my face! I LOVE DERMAPLANE TREATMENTS!!!!! Yes, I like to have my face shaved. Full disclosure! And, definitely a part of my Vegas prep!

The esthetician uses a small scalpel (there is probably a better word for it) and scraps the top layer of skin off your face. This DOES NOT HURT, although it does feel like a CSI episode waiting to happen. A stranger with a small knife is scrapping at your face! But, close your eyes, relax, and don’t think about being a part of the next Dateline NBC episode.

Here is the deal . . . the dead skin comes off AND any nasty peachfuzz you have hanging around on your face. Basically, you are getting your face shaved and your skin will look AMAZING!

My makeup always sits better and I always get compliments after the procedure. I used to tell people that I was just drinking more water (HA!), but now I feel like I need to share the wealth a bit here.

If you are struggling with your skin and/or are dealing with excess hair on your face, go get a dermaplane ASAP! In Dallas, I go to FaceLogic Spa! There are a ton of places that do this procedure.

Oh, football. How I love you.

I love the NFL (Dallas Cowboys), love college football (I can sit and watch any game), and now I love middle school football!!!! Tonight, my sweet Harlan, has his first school football game! He probably won’t play because he is just in sixth grade, and the eighth graders are bigger, scarier, and stronger. Yikes! My mama heart is SO excited for him, but also sending out MAJOR prayers for safety for all of these sweet boys. Go Patriots!

And, then of course a service announcement that the first REAL game of the NFL is tonight. Packers versus Bears. Go Bears!
