100 Posts!

Today is my 100th post.  HOW IN THE WORLD?  It has been such a fun ride.  I contemplated all kinds of things to do for today’s post, but in the end decided to give you a random list of 10 things that many of you may not know about me.  This was fun for me to come up with.  Also, it is clear to me now that I am a bit strange.  Thanks for your support over the last 100 posts.  If you need me tonight, I will be toasting a glass of wine to the next 100!  XO

ONE

I drink Decaf coffee.  I talk about my love of coffee and Starbucks, but I literally only ever get a Decaf coffee.  With a little skim milk and stevia sweetener.  If I have a big cup of regular coffee, I will end up shaky and talking a million miles a minute.  I went to Decaf when I was pregnant in 2017, and I never went back.  It makes me think I am healthy.  Ha!

TWO

Between the ages of 14 and 22 (when I graduated from SMU), I had EIGHT different jobs!

  • Discovery Zone, Goldie’s, Black-Eyed Pea, Holiday Inn Express, The Gap, American Eagle, SMU Marketing Dept, and TGI Friday’s

THREE

I was in a horrible car accident when I was in the 7th grade.  I shattered the windshield with my face and split the dash board with my knee.  I still have scars on my forehead from the glass.  One of the reasons I have bangs.  Plus, I have a large forehead.  #bangsarethebest

FOUR

I met my oldest and dearest friends when we moved onto the same floor in the freshman dorm at SMU.  We are still very close, and five of us have kids going to the same little private school.  Love those sweet friends!

FIVE

Salmon is disgusting. That is all.

SIX

My middle finger on my right hand got in a fight with a rouge merry-go-round when I was in Kindergarten.  Long story short . . . the top part of my middle finger is skin from my hip.  The scars are still there, and the sensation is strange at times.  Still after all these years.  If you ever want to hear the gory details (think bone showing, etc), let me know.  Reid CANNOT handle the story.  I love it.  Ha!

SEVEN

I was diagnosed with Celiacs in September of 2013.  The only thing I miss are donuts.  I know that they have Gluten Free donuts, but I miss the real deal.

EIGHT

I have always wanted to be a writer.  When I was a pre-teen, I wrote my first “book” on wide-ruled notebook paper and tied together with ribbon.  I still have it somewhere.  I think it is about how to be nice to each other.  I will try to dig it out and “publish it” on this blog.  I am sure it is Pulitzer Prize material.  Ha!

NINE

I saw my first R-rated movie at nine years old at my neighbor’s house (HI MEGAN! 😉).  It was Cujo.  A Stephen King book turned into a movie.  To this day I can still see the scene where the dog attacks the car with the mom and kid inside.  It’s a miracle I have dogs.  I can no longer do horror movies.  I don’t think my heart can take them.

TEN

My favorite vacation spot is somewhere with a beach.  The ocean is such a magical place to me.  I always feel so close to God when I am near a beach.  Just so many wonders under the water that we know nothing about.  That, and sitting on the beach with a glass of wine in my hand is one of the most relaxing things in the world!

Thank you, thank you for ALL of your support for these last 100 posts! I love that so many of you have trusted me with your stories. It has been an honor! XO
