Friday Favorites: SMU/TCU

Happy Friday! Friday, I love you! We have a full weekend ahead, and I am just excited to hang with my people! Also, rumor has it that we are finished with the 100 degree weather days here in Dallas! Big news! I am ready for more of the sweatshirt weather and less of the melting away in the heat type of weather!

For today’s Friday Favorites post, I have one HUGE favorite. HUGE!

ONE

Tomorrow is THE BIGGEST “trash-talking” day within the Beucler household. Reid graduated from TCU and I graduated from SMU. Go Mustangs! #PonyUp #housedivided

Each year during football season, SMU plays TCU in the “Iron Skillet Battle” and the trash talking starts the week before. SMU has lost SIXTEEN out of the last eighteen match-ups. So sad. I am usually apologizing for my trash talking around the beginning of the 4th quarter. The last time we won was during a surprise upset in 2011. IT’S TIME PEOPLE!

We typically don’t bring the boys to the games with us as kids don’t get that mommy and daddy are kidding when they are talking major trash to each other. But, are we kidding? πŸ˜‰

This year, the game is at 2:30pm, so the whole crew is headed to Fort Worth for the big show down. Or, as I like to call it, the “SMU Victory”.

This is the evolution of how my boys cheer.

This was when they had zero say, they liked to mess with their daddy, and they were with me all of the time. Go SMU!

Then, Reid being sad that my influence was winning, came up with the idea that each year we would pick a kid and dress them in our school colors. Jackson was the lucky one this year. Go SMU!

And, then . . . well, this happened. Reid has succeeded in brainwashing our children. They bleed purple, people. Of course, now their uncle plays football for TCU, so apparently the whole family is brainwashing them at this point. Every other week, I wear my purple and cheer for TCU, BUT NOT THIS WEEK! GO SMU!!!!!

And just because I love this picture, this was from the last time ESPN GameDay was at TCU. I was super proud of my poster. For some reason, I didn’t get on TV. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

If you need me this weekend, I will be cheering on my Mustangs and doing a victory lap around the DFW Metroplex.

Have a great weekend! XO
