NEW SEGMENT: Give Me All The Products!

It is Friday! WOOHOO! I don’t know about y’all, but re-entry after being SUPER lazy over the holidays was a bit of a task. My To Do list was insane, I hadn’t had a decent meal that didn’t include an insane amount of carbs or sugar in over two weeks, and my work outs consisted of phoning it in at a few Pilates sessions, so I was thank to get back into my normal routine. BUT . . . man, I miss sleeping in and lounging in my pajamas until midday. I am a lucky girl that I get to do that over the holidays, so I fell off of the Frito bandwagon as a reward. Ha!

Something that was discussed on and off throughout the holidays was my obsession with ALL products. If someone tells me that something works or if I read an article about how amazing something is, IT IS MINE! I want to try all of the things! I do a great job with telling you WHAT I am buying and what I LOVE, but I never give you the real update on those products that are just SO-SO or are just big ol’ stinkers.

Let me say that I am not planning on aging gracefully, so please let me know if you have any type of product that are obsessed with. I am here for all of them!

I decided in 2020, I am going to do a new monthly segment called “GIVE ME ALL THE PRODUCTS!” In this monthly post, I will give you the good, the bad, and the ugly for the products that I have been trying out for the past month or two.

Also . . . a big thank you to my sweet friend, Courtney, for making my fun graphic for this new segment! You can find her boutique, The Blue Coco, on Etsy. She literally turned this around for me in about ten minutes. She is amazing, so check out her store!

Is it sad that irrationally excited about this new segment? Here we go . . .

THE AMAZING

This miracle serum has been recommended to me by several people over the last year. You know those people in your life that have amazing skin all of the time? Yes, those people recommended this to me. I held off on purchasing because it is expensive. However, as a Happy Birthday present to myself last month, I pulled the trigger. I am SO, SO pleased with this serum. I use every morning after cleansing, and I really like what it is doing with my skin. It does have a pretty strong botanical smell that I had to push through, but it dissipates pretty quickly after absorbing into my skin. I am just a few weeks in, but I am a very big fan of this stuff and don’t think that I can ever take it out of my regimen. Clearly I will have to manage my Mi Cocina addiction better in order to budget the Vintner’s Daughter. Highly recommend. You can get this at Nordstrom.

Oh, Nectifirm. How I love you. This is more preventative for me right now, but I am loving this light and moisturizing neck cream. I use this morning and night under my sunscreen, and really like what it is doing to the texture of the skin on my neck. And, if it is helping with keeping the wrinkles at bay, then I will use FOREVER! You can grab this on the Revision Skincare website or your local skin care spas.

I snagged a travel size of this exfoliating cleanser last summer when we were headed out of town, and I have to say that I loved it! I ran out of it during the fall, and decided to restock myself in my stocking this year! Such a great idea! This exfoliating “treatment” feels like something you would have done at a spa. You use this on clean skin and leave on for a couple of minutes. You feel a little tingle, which I always think means something is working. My face is always smooth and the texture is better each time I use. You can grab at Nordstrom, Amazon, or Ulta! Check it out!

If you haven’t tried this yet, GRAB THIS IMMEDIATELY! I have been talking about this amazing mask for months! I save this deep cleansing mask for those times when I have really been hard on my skin. You know those time . . . spending too much time in the sun, drinking or eating too much, or just not taking care of my skin in the best way that I can. This kind of resets my skin and helps me start over. Love it, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND! You can grab it at Nordstrom or on Amazon.

THE “DECENT, AND MAY ONE DAY BUY AGAIN OR BE PLEASANTLY HAPPY WHEN I GET THIS AS A GIFT”

In typical Shawna fashion, someone told that the Maely’s B-Tight cream was a miracle worker, so I purchased it. That person was Khloe Kardashian. Bless it. But, yet again, if someone tells this cream will tighten my booty and thighs, I am in! Full disclosure, I have not been consistent in using this cream. I haven’t seen any miracles going on, but I do like using this product. It tingles/burns slightly when you put it on (seriously, don’t laugh), so it has to be working, right? Ha! I know I am ridiculous. I think that I paid $80 for two jars, so it is pricey. Not sure that I will purchase for myself again, but I do enjoy the burn and the feeling that the burn has to be good. Right? 😉

Do you know how many bloggers out there say that this lotion is the miracle worker? A TON! I am always in need of a great lotion that is super hydrating. I have to say that my thought on this is that it is just “okay”. Smells fine and very hydrating , but nothing special. I prefer the Kiehl’s hand cream or the Cere Ve travel size lotion over this. Of course, I wouldn’t turn it down if I found it in my stocking. Just not my favorite.

THE “NEVER AGAIN, THANKS”

Today, I am including three things that I was NOT a fan of. I was pumped to purchase and try based upon recommendations, but very disappointed. Have you used any of these three items? I would LOVE to hear your thoughts.

Y’all! I SO wanted to LOVE this product. I heard about it from Reese Witherspoon’s Instagram just before Christmas, and she was telling me how amazing and moisturizing this eight-hour cream was. Well, clearly I rushed the shipping so I could include this in my stocking. But, I have been SUPER DISAPPOINTED! I have dry skin during this time of year, and was looking for a very hydrating lotion. This is NOT it. It has the consistency of a thick Vaseline, soaks in very quickly and then fades away, and I am not a fan of the smell. I would rather slather my skin in Vaseline. Which I’ve done. Many times. Try it. Good stuff.

My amazing hair dresser loves this root lift spray, and I am ALWAYS looking for help with my hair. So, I Amazon’d this to myself immediately. I am NOT.A.FAN. I have thin hair that I am desperately trying to hold on to, and this spray made my hair heavy and crunchy. Thin, heavy, crunchy hair is not a good look, my friends. I am bummed because I used it twice and then stuffed it in my bottom bathroom drawer. Maybe this stuff is better if used by someone with thick, luscious hair? Which, by the way, if you have thick, luscious hair, I am super jealous of you!

Okay, so to be fair, I was under the impression that this stuff was a miracle worker. For my birthday a few years ago, Reid made me an appointment with a Chanel make-up artist for my birthday. I have been a HUGE Chanel fan ever since. Once a year, I will grab an hour with their traveling artist and see what they recommend. Some years this is a successful trip, others I walk out of the store in turquoise eyeliner and have to wash my face before heading to carpool. Needless to say, I have learned to be more vocal about what I want. My last visit was earlier this fall and I was having some major enlarged pore issues. I was told that this stuff was magic, and if I could only buy one thing, this was it. It is definitely okay, but it is did not give me the results I have hoped for. And, it is expensive. I am fine with expensive, but I need it to WORK! So, sadly, no more on this one. The one Chanel fail I have found after all these years. Boo!

*******

Okay, I love this post! Did y’all? Is this something that you want to continue seeing once a month?

Send me your product recommendations. I can’t wait to see what you all are LOVING! Or never buying again!

Have a great weekend! XO
