What’s Up Wednesday?

Happy Wednesday!!

On the last Wednesday of every month, I link up with Shay over at Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer at Sheaffer Told Me To. This random link up is where we share what’s going on with us right now . . . a little food, family, current obsessions . . . all the things in one post.

Also, I hear that it is National Super Hero Day, so here is a little gem from Halloween 2012 with my superhero boys!

It is ALMOST May, which means that it is ALMOST summer time! So very excited to get into the warm weather. Anyone else?

Here we go . . .

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK?

Oh friends! This week is a busy one, and when it comes to dinner time, I am super lazy. Please don’t judge me, but my dinner making skills have been subpar for my crew so far this week. We kicked it off solidly with my famous Beucler Baked Sliders, which my kids loved. But, then made a solid effort with putting a Digiorno pizza in the oven last night. Ha! The rest of this week looks a little more promising with chicken tacos and some other amazing creations that I copy from my much loved Defined Dish Cookbook. But . . . don’t hold me to that.

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT

Patriot Day last week! Our sweet school has rocked the house with the Covid protocols, and we have slowly been getting back to normal throughout the school year. Living History Days are very special days in our lower school, and 4th graders get to celebrate Patriot Day. All year, speakers come to chat with our students about their personal experiences in World War II, September 11th, a tour in the Middle East, and other conflicts around the world. Such an awesome way for our kids to learn about the heroes in our midst. So, last week, Jackson dressed up like our 16th U.S. President, and we spent the day having fun! Jackson’s highlights were getting handcuffed by a FBI agent and winning the games portion of the day. Oh Jackson!

WHAT I’M LOVING

I spend so much time driving the boys around, and one on one time isn’t always true quality time. I have started trying to snag that quality time whenever I can, and it has been so rewarding. Last Sunday was a beautiful day in Dallas, so Harlan and I had a little date at Mi Cocina. The date may have included walking around and talking while waiting for our table on the patio, and then hanging out until the rest of our crew showed up . . . BUT, it was a solid two hours or so of amazing one-on-one time. So love that my teenage boy loves to be with his mama, and he gives me all the stories! 😉

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO

SPORTS! Golf, Basketball, Football, Speed & Agility classes. All the sports. And, I LOVE THEM! Such a fun part of being a boy mama. We are busy, but we love it.

And, last night (on a rare night “off”), Harlan put us all through an obstacle course in the back yard. He doesn’t mess around when he turns into our personal trainer! Ha!

WHAT I’M DREADING

Hmmmmm . . . I’m not sure. If I am honest, I guess I am not looking forward to the 120 degree Texas summer that hits mid-August? Its the only time when you feel like you are on fire, and it is why we all live for those 75 degree days here.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON

Friday is APRIL BOOK REVIEW DAY! Woohoo! I am finishing up reading my FIFTH book this month, and can’t wait to share my review with you. It was a great month of reading! YEAH!

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT

Let’s see . . . April Book Review Day, Summer, this weekend! AND, super pumped that I have a couple of upcoming trips planned for May. Looking forward to toes in the sand, cocktail in hand, and laughing with friends! Sometimes just 48 hours away can be food for the soul!

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING

The boys and I are still binge-watching The Flash whenever we have the time. Reid jumps in when he can to watch one, but the boys and I are truly obsessed. Mid-way through season four at the moment. I convinced Reid to watch the first episode of Bridgerton, but he wasn’t into it. So, considering that I spent the rest of the night speaking in an English accent, I am obsessed and will be finishing this one on my own.

OH . . . and did y’all see that Ted Lasso is coming back with season 2 on July 23rd? SOOOOOO excited here at the Beucler House!

And, for what I am reading, make sure to check back on Friday for my April Book Review! I’ve been a busy reader this month!

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

Y’all. I have become obsessed with podcasts. It is a problem. I love Smartless, as always. My second favorite is Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert, but I only listen to certain episodes. And, if I am driving around not listening to a podcast, then chances are I am listening to Meghan Trainor on Spotify. On repeat. I love her, and think we would be great friends.

WHAT I’M WEARING

Lots of working from home this week, so I am a bum! BUT, I do dress up my bummy attire with my fabulous Vaneli shoes. Love these so much. Cute, affordable, and comfy!

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND

Enjoying the weekend with my crew. We have some golf thrown in, but mostly we will be hanging out and lounging. Can’t wait!

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH

Yeah for May! I love May. It is an insane month with sports, school, and end of year activities, but it is so much fun and signals that summer is coming!!!! Also, I am throwing in a little traveling, and SUPER pumped about that. I am a beach girl, so I am excited to hang in out in the sand a couple of times in May! 😊

WHAT ELSE IS NEW

I think that is about it! I’m still OBSESSED with Optavia, and loving that I am helping so many people get healthy. If you want to research the program, click here. And, as always, you can message me to chat about it!

Have a great rest of the week! XO
