Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone! It has been a crazy week, and I am SO looking forward to the weekend! Today’s version of Friday Favorites includes THE BEST FRIDAY FAVORITE EVER! And, I think you will probably agree with me! 😊 Here we go . . .

ONE – The BEST Friday Favorite EVER!

Introducing Coal Stetson Beucler! 😊 So, if you follow me on social media, you know that we made a little addition to our family a week ago.  Last Friday, Reid and I went to pick up this little nugget about an hour or so east of Dallas.  We had secretly been planning this for about a month.  When the boys got home Friday afternoon, we gave them a late “Back to School present”.  Nothing big, just something little and fun.  Well . . . this was their face when they realized their “little” present was actually an 8 week old black lab puppy!

And . . . this was after the shock had worn off and just pure joy remained!

My heart.  IT.WAS.PRECIOUS. Now, our 18 month old yellow lab was a DISASTER as a puppy (he is WAY WAY better now!).  I can tell you stories that would make you never want a dog.  Seriously.  So, over the last few weeks, I have been praying HARD.  Praying that this sweet puppy would be easy, everyone would love him, and he would be happy.  Well, friends, prayers answered.  The transition has been seamless, and the obsession all around is real. Now, he is 9 weeks old, so it could all hit the fan tomorrow.  But, for now, he is doing really well.

As you can see, Coal is obsessed with Tank. Tank is still weighing his options, but so far has been great with him!

And, this was Coal after having him less than 24 hours.  He clearly has figured out we are his people.  Goofy smiles and comfy pups.  We LOVE this sweet boy!

TWO

Tonight is the night, my friends.  SMU vs. TCU! It all goes down at SMU starting at 7pm tonight.  Now, I am aware that 16th ranked TCU won their opening game 55-7, and I am aware that un-ranked SMU lost their opening game 46-23.  DOES NOT MATTER.  My sweet friend told me yesterday that after watching the movie “Greater” (which I need to rent now if I am talking about it!), she was inspired and that you never know what will truly happen in sports.  THANK YOU! I will still have my school pride, and I will still talk trash.  All the way to the end of the game.  Please check out what I have slowly been adding throughout the house this week.  The balloons and yard sign were noticed immediately, but no one has mentioned the cups and the napkins AT ALL! I may keep them there until someone mentions them.

The game is on ESPN2 tonight, if you are a college football fan.  TCU is favored by 22.5, but I won’t let that deter me.  GO SMU! Pony up! 😊

THREE

Y’all.  I have found it.  The magic potion.  You all know that I struggle with my hair: texture and thinning! Well, the guy that cuts my hair is a genius.  He is a character and is obsessed with Star Wars, but he is fabulous.  And a genius.  Whenever I walk out of a haircut, my hair is always bouncy and thick looking.  He always swears by Oribe products, and is convinced that the Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray is the holy grail.  People . . . it may be! I.LOVE.IT! Click here to get some for yourself!

FOUR

I had a meeting this morning with my AMAZING infertility doctor.  No, we are not trying to get pregnant again.  That shop is still very much closed! But, my sweet (and GENIUS) doctor and I have been talking for the last month or so on collaborating for some infertility based blog posts.  He is amazing, and has so much insight to offer those that are dealing with infertility and loss.  I worked with him for the better part of a decade, and since he won’t dedicate a wing in his practice to me, I guess I will settle for this! HA! But, this morning was the first time that I have walked into his office in a long time.  His office houses some very strong emotions . . . very high highs and very LOW lows.  I was an anxious mess thinking about walking through those doors, and muttering prayers my entire drive across town.  I am happy to report that I didn’t burst into tears in the waiting room.  While it was strange being there without getting a sonogram or blood work, I was thankful to be standing upright and in a good place emotionally.  I am so thankful for my sweet doctor and his staff.  We have some awesome things in the works, so be on the look out for those in the very near future!
