Friday Favorites: There is NO Magic Pill

Happy Friday, y’all! I have been working on this post off and on for a month.  I decided to make this into a Friday Favorites post because I have had so many recent conversations with other women regarding health, diet, workouts, the newest fad, etc.  This post has been sitting in my head, on my laptop, and in my carpool notepad for awhile now, and I thought now was the perfect time to post this.  Especially since we are about to dive head first into the holidays, which for me means too much of everything! Especially gluten free pumpkin bread.  I need to lose that recipe STAT!  Message me if you want it, before I “lose” it.

For the last twelve years, I have had major fluctuations in my weight.  Infertility treatments and pregnancies will do that to a girl.  Over the years, health has become less about how I looked and more about how I felt.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I would like to look amazing in a pair of jeans, but it is more about being able to run around the backyard with my kids and not feel like I am going to pass out. I have not always been the healthiest of eaters and have been known to be a little insane in the ways of dieting.  Unfortunately, I experimented with anorexia and bulimia in middle school/high school, and I could line up half of the Kappa House at SMU to entertain you with stories of my eating choices.  I still stand by my snack of apples and honey.  Try it.  It’s amazing.

I was blessed with Celiac Disease in September of 2013.  I say blessed because if I didn’t have Celiacs, I would be made mostly of bread and weigh approximately 300 pounds.  I love bread.  I don’t love gluten free bread, so I just don’t eat it.  Oh, and I loved fried chicken.  So, so very much. Bread and fried chicken.  God basically did me and my weight a favor with the ol’ auto immune situation.

I guess that I have had an odd relationship with food for many, many, many years!  A friend told me recently that I always seem to be doing some type of diet/program.  She was so right on the money.  Here is a quick run down for diets/programs, I have done over the years. Let me say that I know MANY women that have had TONS of success on most of the programs mentioned below.  Just because something didn’t work or “stick” for me, doesn’t mean it isn’t perfect for someone else.  Except maybe the baked potato diet.

  • The Baked Potato Diet. This did not go well.  I was as round as a baked potato by the end of week one.  Not sure about the “science” behind this one.
  • Dexatrim.  If you are a lot younger than me, you probably have no clue what these magic pills are.  I am sure they are no longer available because they made you super shaky and never hungry.  Magic pills that were trying to kill you.  Reid and one of my mothers-in-law found them and made me flush them down the toilet.
  • “Infertility Diet”. I basically did anything and everything that I was told would help me get pregnant. I have since been told by my amazing Reproductive Endocrinologist that there is no true “Infertility Diet”.  Just eat healthy!  Easier said than done when you are shooting yourself up for progesterone and have swollen ovaries.
  • Slim Fast. Loved me some chocolate shakes! I was bad on the “sensible dinner” thing.  Do they make this anymore?
  • Weight Watchers. Super easy concept, but was hard for me to be consistent with. Especially when I was counting wine points. I know several friends that swear by this.
  • Metabolism B Diet. This is AWESOME! I did this about a year before I was diagnosed with Celiacs, and I felt amazing.  There is a book that goes along with it, and I really enjoyed it.
  • Keto Diet. Kind of like Metabolism B, but on crack.  Because of Celiacs, I am a low carb girl anyway, but I love fruit too much to be consistent with a no carb lifestyle.  Apples are my gateway drug to carbs.
  • 21 Day Fix. I LOVED the Beachbody workouts.  I still do them from time to time, and have an awesome coach if you are ever interested in getting involved. But, I don’t like measuring things. I get the science behind this, but it was a daunting task for me.  I never really got into the measuring containers. I also don’t like having a menu to follow.  I need flexibility. And wine. And coffee.

On my decades long journey of health/diet/fitness, I have figured one thing out.  There is NO magic pill.  If you are looking for one, please stop.  There are things out there that can HELP you and your willpower, but no magic pill.  Everyone’s body chemistry is different, so each of our struggles are so unique.  Now that I am ALMOST a year out from my last and final miscarriage (SO good to be able to say that!), I can say that I have found the things that work for me.   I love these things SO VERY MUCH that I now either sell them or I am an affiliate partner.  I have sold MANY things in my day, and they are usually short term ventures to try to make a buck.  These things have stuck around . . . one since 2014!  Oh, and I am a SKEPTIC! So, do your research like I did.  Take a look below, and let me know if you have any questions.

faster way to fat loss

I have blogged about this program before. This is the program that helped me lose weight and inches in my bet with Reid.  If you remember, I WON!!!  Thank you, thank you! In seven weeks, I lost 6.5% of my body weight, and I ATE! The first couple of weeks were difficult in trying to figure it all out, but I ATE A TON OF FOOD! And, I drank wine.  And, I drank my coffee.  I truly credit this program to helping me get back on track after the crazy hormonal, emotional and physical shifts that I had in 2017 and early 2018.

The most recent round started on October 12th, and I signed up again as a returning client.  I am prone to going OFF THE RAILS with the food and wine the last couple of months of the year, and I needed some level of accountability to reign me in.  Even if it is reigning me in just a little bit! I love the fun workouts (available on an app on your phone and can be done from home!), I love the Facebook support group, I love the intermittent fasting (it makes me feel so much “lighter” and energetic . . . which I didn’t think would happen as I am prone to being “hangry”), and I love the flexibility of eating and drinking what I want as long as it fits into my macros.  I had a glass of wine last night.  It was a amazing!

This is the only program that has made me feel in control and strong.  I highly, HIGHLY recommend this program to ALL of you! It is $199 for a seven week program, and it is worth every penny.  There is also a cookbook that you can get with great recipes to help you along the way.  The Spice-Rubbed Filet Mignon is currently a Beucler favorite.

I am an affiliate partner with the FASTer Way to Fat Loss program, and I would LOVE for you to join this program and check it out with me.  The next round opens up on November 12th!  Click on this link to check out the program. This has helped me so much!

somaderm hgh gel

Also, affectionately called “The Gel” in the Dallas area! A sweet friend introduced this to me earlier this year as it was in the pre-release stage.  I did a ton of research, because let’s be honest, I don’t need to be failing any random drug tests because I am shooting myself up with the Human Growth Hormone.  Also, I am SUCH A SKEPTIC!  After all of my due diligence, I decided to try out the gel.  It took me a minute to be consistent, but I am so thankful that I did.

This is the only HGH micro dose gel on the market, and Dallas is going NUTS for it. Not only is it making my hair and nails grow at a crazy pace, I do think that it is helping my skin. Somaderm gel is the first FDA registered transdermal HGH over the counter gel. We stop producing HGH in our early 20s, and this gel helps the body start producing HGH again on its own. If you are a skeptic like me, I get it! Research this, and you will definitely want to try it! Click here to check it out for yourself.

PLEXUS SLIM

I have been selling Plexus since February 2014.  Yes, I am one of those crazy Plexus girls.  I credit Plexus for helping me figure out my dietary needs after I was diagnosed with Celiacs.  You know when you don’t eat and you get shaky? After getting diagnosed with Celiacs, it was the worst! My blood sugar would crash as I was trying to figure out what I could and could not eat.  Plexus Slim actually helps to stabilize your blood sugar, and drinking it each morning helped me tremendously during this time in my life.  I still drink it every morning.  Sometimes I add another in the afternoon.  It has helped with my sleep, my overall health.  I don’t share about it much, but I LOVE IT! Plexus offers so many products now, but these are my current favorites:

  • Plexus Slim Hunger Control.  Balances my blood sugar and gives me a boost to start my day.  If I am having a crazy day, I will drink a second one in the afternoon to help with my late afternoon cravings.
  • ProBio5.  This is a probiotic, and I swear by this little pill! I take two each night at bedtime, and it keeps my gut nice and clean! 80% of our immune system is in our gut, so I know this has helped with my own personal auto-immune issues.
  • BioCleanse.  This helps to oxygenate your gut.  Basically, it helps you stay regular.  If you know what I mean.  I put this towards the bottom of the post knowing Reid would never make it this far! HA!
  • XFactor Plus.  An awesome multi-vitamin.  Plexus has studies that shows this vitamin is 300% more effective than generic vitamins all because it actually is absorbed into your blood stream in a more efficient way.
  • Joyome.  This is the new skincare line, which I love.  Not on the save wavelength as the others mentioned, but still one of my favorites!

I LOVE this stuff! I used to share it a ton when I first started using and selling, but I haven’t in quite awhile.  I just love it.  It works for me, and I can’t imagine doing life without all of this! Click here to check it out for yourself.  And, please let me know if you have any questions.  There is a 60 day money back guarantee if you don’t like something.

**********

Again, none of this hits the “Magic Pill” status.  And, all of us are made differently and something that works for me won’t work for you.  It is unique to each of us.  If you have tried a crazy diet or product, please let me know.  I love hearing crazy diet stories.  I once had a friend that went on the 7-day Tomato Soup diet.  It did not go well. 😉

ALSO . . . I am giving away a bottle of “THE GEL” and a bottle of the PLEXUS SLIM PROBIO5 to anyone that would like to try them! Head on over to my LUNCHBOX BABIES INSTAGRAM PAGE, make sure you are following my page, and then comment on this Friday Favorites Instagram post.  The comment can be anything, just make sure to comment on the IG post to be registered to win! A winner will be chosen next Friday! GOOD LUCK!

Have a great weekend! XO
