Friday Favorites: I Love Trader Joe’s

Happy Friday, friends! Before I start sharing my LOVE for Trader Joe’s, I have a BIG favorite to share.  My washing machine has been messed up for almost two months, and over Thanksgiving week it just quit.  The owner of the laundromat down the street has become a very close personal friend during this time.  Well, today it looks like we may actually get this bad boy fixed! To say that I am excited to be able to do laundry should show you how desperate I am. Ha! So, BIG Friday Favorite that I can start the LOADS of laundry sometime today! Yeah!

I was chatting with a few gluten free friends a couple of weeks ago about my love for Trader Joe’s.  There are three things to know about Trader Joe’s:

  1. They have the best fruit selection in town, and at the best prices!
  2. They have the best flower selection in town, and at the best prices!
  3. They have an AWESOME selection of gluten free items!

Today, I want to share all of my FAVORITES from Trader Joe’s with you guys.  Be prepared for tons of pictures!  If you have anything that you love from there, let me know and I will make sure to grab it!  Here is my haul from earlier this week! YUMMY!

So, like my first point mentioned . . . the organic fruit selection at Trader Joe’s is the bomb!  It is less expensive than anywhere else, and just a yummy! We go through berries so quickly over here, so the price is definitely right!

The second big thing about Trader Joe’s . . . FLOWERS! I went to buy some flower arrangements for Thanksgiving 2017, and had MAJOR sticker shock at some local florists.  So, I went to Trader Joe’s, spent a fraction of the cost, and made my own.  They were inexpensive, beautiful, and lasted longer than usual.  This is now my go to for flowers!  The two dozen roses were $11! And, check out these precious mini poinsettias.  They are $2.99 each, and I think would make a precious gift for a teacher or a neighbor.

Before we dive into all of the gluten free goodness, I have to mention this little gem that is a favorite of my little guys. These turkey corn dogs are in the frozen section, and take 45 seconds in the microwave to heat up.  This isn’t something they have regularly, but it is a super easy thing to grab when we are in a hurry.  And, the turkey aspect makes me feel like it is a little bit healthier than your typical corn dog! Of course, I can rationalize most anything!

Onto my gluten free Trader Joe’s FAVORITES!!!!!  So, my current go to meal involves the amazing cauliflower rice stir fry.  Y’all . . . this entire bag is 200 calories.  I have eaten the entire bag several times, and I have ZERO guilt.  So yummy and so healthy! This is SO easy to make, and you guys know that I am not the best cook.

I typically add either scallops or the Argentinian red shrimp to add a little protein and more substance. We also mix it up with a little avocado and tamari (gluten free soy sauce).  It is YUMMY, y’all! I may do an Instagram story next week when I make this to show you how easy it is.  It is on weekly rotation around here, and one of Reid’s favorite things I make.  Oh, and the red shrimp taste like lobster.  Seriously!  I may have this for lunch today.

Have y’all tried the Chomp sticks? This is basically a healthy and glamorous version of beef jerky.  It is gluten free, has 9 grams of protein, and is super easy to grab if you are starving.  Reid LOVES these, and keeps a stash at the office.

Go grab yourself a jar of this amazing goodness, and then you can thank me later.  A little drizzle on strawberries, apples, anything in your kitchen . . . SO AMAZING!  We all need a little sweetness from time to time.

I love a big salad, and have been told about the two famous Trader Joe’s salad dressings! I have not used either of these, but people won’t stop talking about their legendary status.  Have any of you tried these two? I am excited to test them out!

And, last by not least . . .PIZZA! I love a good pizza, and have discovered the beauty of the cauliflower crust.  EASY to make, super yummy, low in sugar and sodium (which a lot of pizza crusts are not!), and gluten free!

I have SO MANY other loves at Trader Joe’s, but these are definitely my favorites.  I did find a gluten free mac and cheese in the frozen section the other day, and it is now currently hanging out in my freezer for a rainy day!  I will definitely show y’all my yummy cauliflower rice bowls next week.  This post is making me HUNGRY! Happy cooking, friends!
