Happy Birthday to Reid . . . & Happy 4th of July!

It is July 3rd, which is a big day in the Beucler household.  Check out this picture of my sweet husband! Such a cute little munchkin.  Today is his birthday, and we are celebrating!  He has been so supportive of this blog, so he obviously deserves a little birthday mention!

A few things about Reid . . .

1. He is obsessed with all things TCU.  He played baseball there, and basically bleeds purple.  He has also been successful in brainwashing my children.  I fought it for awhile, but have clearly lost the battle.

2. He loves to celebrate anyone and everyone.  If you are his friend or family member, he loves you dearly.  And, he clearly has no problem being on stage with a band.  We are basically the same person.  The picture below was taken at his surprise 40th birthday party.  I believe the band was playing “Fight for Your Right to Party” by the Beastie Boys.  Classic.

3. He is extremely supportive and shows so much grace towards our family. Our infertility journey was a rough one, and let’s be honest, men grieve differently. During our hardest losses, even though he threw himself into work to heal, he was always there with a shoulder and an ear.  And some wine.  2017 was especially difficult, and I am thankful that it made us stronger.

So, happy birthday to this guy! If you see fireworks over the next few days, we like to say they are for him.  Don’t tell him the truth on that one. 😉

And, of course . . . Happy EARLY 4th of July, friends! A friend of mine sent me this meme over the weekend, and it made me laugh out loud!

We started celebrating on Saturday at the Four Seasons.  Our goal was to make it to the fireworks, but hours of swimming and lounging in the sun makes for two very tired children.  They were asleep by 7:45pm, and fireworks started at 9:15pm.  Maybe next year they will make it up that long!  We had fun for those several hours in the sun though!

Also, please note that this is the first and only picture of me in a swimsuit on the Internet.  This blog is making me all kinds of brave. Or crazy.  My husband and dearest friends are either proud that I am being less self-conscious, or one of them is currently calling my therapist and asking if I can get in sometime this week.  In any case, I LOVE this picture.  Most of my heart captured in this one pic.  Swimsuit and all!

Have a wonderful 4th! Be safe, love your people, and have a blast! XO
